medafORACLE is an emcee's emcee residing in Phoenix, AZ. Nourished on Hip Hop he lives and breaths it daily and it shows in every song he writes and records. Known for his witty punch lines and trickery word play, he mixes this into songs containing substance and content. This is what separates him from other emcees. Featured on Green Lantern's "MySpace Takeover" mix tape in 2007, he has just released his own entitled "Abandoned Tracks". Other previous releases are "The Forgotten Son"-2005 "Long Live Hip Hop EP"-2007 "Food, Rent, Water or Gas"-2009 and "FINDINMED"-2010. His latest project is set for release late summer of 2010 with fellow Hip Hopper and producer from IL, Gilson. The project is titled "Mouth West" A duo of an emcee residing in the Southwest (medafORACLE) and producer residing in the Midwest (Gilson). Not only known as an emcee medafORACLE is also a producer and mixing engineer. He produces for other local and independent artists. An artist and emcee of such type is not created, he is born and chosen. No need of wondering where Hip Hop has gone and if it's still alive because it is. medafORACLE proves this every second as he continues to keep it alive.

Old School Weekly-Das EFX

Sorry for missing the last friday. Ive been real busy doing shows and working on a new ep called "Lady Soul" droppin early Sept. 2009. So since Ive deprived you, Im gonna give you TWO "Old School Weekly" features this week. Today's weekly is Das Efx...Im still keepin it REAL Old School peoples. You SHOULD know who they are...BUT for those who dont...here's some histopry of the duo...

Group member Skoob hails from Brooklyn, New York City while Krazy Drayzy hails from Teaneck, New Jersey but the two met at Virginia State University in 1988 and began performing together. They named themselves "Das" standing for "Drayz and Skoob" and "EFX" meaning "effects". Das EFX caught the attention of EPMD at a local talent show where, despite losing the competition, they did well enough to convince EPMD to sign them to a recording contract. The duo gained critical and commercial fame with the release of their landmark debut album, Dead Serious, which highlighted their unusual rapping style which they nicknamed "sewage".

Dead Serious went platinum and its lead single, "They Want EFX,"(which contains samples from James Brown's "Blind Man Can See It" and Malcolm McLaren's "Buffalo Gals") reached the top ten on Billboard magazine's R&B chart, the top 40 on its Hot 100 Singles chart and #1 on its Hot Rap Tracks chart. Follow-up singles "Mic Checka" and "Straight Out the Sewer" did not chart on the Hot 100 but reached #1 and #3 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart, respectively. Enjoy the video of thier first single "They Want EFX"

Stay Tuned for part two of the "Old School Weekly" on Friday...LONG LIVE HIP HOP poeples....
